No longer shackled to the thoughts of how to and need to,
Only bound by the joy of moment and colour.
Something I have managed to develop since studying photography is the joy and depth of understanding with regard to colour. It's been interesting to comparatively see how my post-processing is shifting and changing as I begin to find a new found respect for colour (in all of its spectrums) and the magic of it all.
Finding my own experience and purpose with photography has been the biggest win for me since studying it from the beginning of the year. I think there was certainly a tenacity to do things a certain way because of an aesthetic that I adored and appreciated without much thought as to "why". Since I have been forced to ponder, examine, dissect and critique my way of doing things I have found out that I am amazed by colour and the way in which light changes the intensity of colours, deepening colours with the shadows and bringing others into a washed out pastel boiling point during the most intense part of the day. A whole new found respect for the Master Painters who could so perfectly capture these moments and colours.
Some say that photographers are light chasers, indeed I am but I am also madly in love with colour. My eyes have been fantasising about the non-geometric world and the way in which colour forms shape and meaning.
Two more weeks of thinking, reading and playing + more journal posts!!
