Playing around with some imagery I took at last years Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Some of which has since appeared in The Collective Magazine and the current issue of Marie Claire (Back Cover).
(The Collective, Issue #22 p. 120).
(Marie Claire, Issue #248 Back Cover).
What is my motivation behind these basic photo-montages? I have a stockpile of images, I am yet to get my butt into gear with doing anything about them (such as selling prints and stock images) so in the meantime I am thoroughly enjoying using my images to create basic looking photo montages.
As a photographer who is now actually studying photography, I love reading about the different theorists and photographers who had the balls to take imagery that was a reflection of their own personal style and or a means of transferring a message; either through the use of colour, composition and light.
I am a huge advocate of living a sustainable lifestyle and reducing waste, so for me this is a fun little exercise is getting the most out of my images and practicing my newfound photoshop skills. Whilst I am a huge believer in not re-touching photographs of faces and bodies in magazines and also with my wedding photography clients, this process feels like a fun and blatant use of photoshop synergise my images.
So between family life, study, yoga and surfing.....this is what you'll find me doing.
