A trickle of imagery from my time up in Byron Bay will slowly make it's way through my blog and social media account. My family and friends frequently plan our calendars to find space and solace along the east coast stretch of highway that leads us to this legendary and mirage like town.
Walking the streets of Byron and the surrounding Hinterlands, it's easy to see why people connect with the place. It welcomes you as you are. People smile. Healthy intentions are at most cafe's. Good times linger in the space between the present and the imminent future.
However the real magic of the place is not lined along the wide streets or some mythical place that is hidden away from the tourists. It fringes the town with salty goodness. The essence that leaks out into the open hearted town rolls in with consistency day by day. Underneath the salty brow, dripping hair, sandy toes and browned skin you are gifted with a small portion of gentle confidence and gratitude. What you find here is a community of people who appreciate and respect the same magic that brought you there in the first place.
